Errington Walks
Enjoy guided walks through the spectacular scenery and discover some of the fascinating history of Northumberland and visit fascinating places with your own guide.
As you are reading this, you probably enjoy walking. We do too, and there can be no doubt that Northumberland is a great place to walk and, quite apart from, that just to visit.
At Errington House we provide what is, for the area, a unique combination of comfortable and stylish accommodation, good food, and guided walking through one of England’s loveliest and most historically rich counties.
From Errington you can visit the North and South Tyne Valleys, the Coast, Simonside, Coquetdale, Kielder, the moors of Allendale and Blanchland, the Border Fence, and of course Hadrian’s Wall, which lies about a mile and a half south of the house. We are also very close to the southern end of St Oswald’s Way, at Heavenfield, which is not to be missed.
It’s not all about walking though. Non-walkers are welcome, and will find much to enjoy. If you are walking with us, you won’t be made to walk any further than you want. There will be time to visit Corbridge and Hexham, which are interesting and attractive places in their own right as well as offering opportunities for a bit of retail therapy. Alternatively you might like to check out one of the several English Heritage or National Trust properties nearby. All are well worth your attention. Do bring your cards if you are members.
Of course it is always possible just to take some tea and sit and admire the view from the house, to read your book and listen to music in the comfortable sitting room, or do not very much at all until it’s time for drinks and dinner.
We can accommodate groups of friends, or families, up to 8 in number.
